Abomasnow- the Frost Tree Pokemon

Postby diywid on Mon Dec 22, 2008 2:54 am

I decided that I should do something I have been meaning to do for ages and write an entry in the Wiki Pokedex. As Christmas is almost upon us, I chose a Pokemon with a hint of winter about it- Abomasnow.
If you have any questions, comments or ideas, please feel free to post.

#460 Abomasnow

Abomasnow are large, white creatures covered in white fur. Their feet and hands are green and they have short, dark green tails. Abomasnow have four green spikes on their backs which resemble mountains. Abomasnow have bushy eyebrows and moustaches and have light-purple eyes. The only gender difference is that the fur on a female's chest is thicker than on a male.
Special abilities
Abomasnow have the ability to sense snow many miles away, and if they get too angry or form packs, they can create small snowstorms. Abomasnow's feet are very strong, and even strong winds cannot force this Pokemon to fall over.
Abomasnow are short-tempered and can become very territorial. As a result of this, they live in isolation high on mountain-tops.

Game info
Abomasnow evolves from Snover at Level 40.
PokeDex number
Abomasnow is #460 in the National PokeDex and #143 in the Sinnoh PokeDex.
Abomasnow is a dual type Grass-Ice Pokemon.
Abomasnow has the ability Snow Warning, which means it can summon a hailstorm in battle. Unlike when using Hail, the storm lasts until Abomasnow is replaced, instead of just 5 turns.
Abomasnow belongs to two egg groups- Monster and Plant. Its eggs take 5,120 steps to hatch.

It is the first Pokemon alphabetically, robbing Abra of its crown.
Along with its pre-evolved form, Abomasnow is the only Grass-Type Pokemon that can not learn Sunny Day.
It appears to be based on a cross between a tree and the yeti. Its name is a shortening of the term 'Abominable Snowman,' another name for the yeti.
